About the Translator 

The Clear Quran' by Dr. Mustafa Khattab, a Canadian-Egyptian authority renowned for his expertise in interpreting the Quran. Dr. Khattab's distinguished background includes being a pivotal member of the inaugural team that translated the Ramadan night prayers (Tarawîḥ) live from the Sacred Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina (2002-2005). Having memorized the entire Quran at a young age and obtaining a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation with an authentic chain of narrators tracing back to Prophet Muḥammad, his credentials are unparalleled.

With a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. in Islamic Studies in English with Honours from Al-Azhar University’s esteemed Faculty of Languages & Translation, Dr. Khattab brings scholarly depth to his translations. He has lectured on Islam at prestigious institutions such as Clemson University and served as a Lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade. Additionally, he has enriched the Muslim community as a Chaplain at Brock University and UTM, demonstrating his commitment to spiritual guidance and education.

As a member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar, Dr. Khattab contributions extend beyond academia.
